Schaumburg, IL - Omron Systems, Inc., a major supplier of retail automation systems, has entered into a $9 million agreement with Dollar General, a chain of neighborhood stores (NASDAQ; DOLR) to provide an upgraded turnkey scanning solution throughout the corporation's growing chain of over 2,700 stores in 24 states.

Through the agreement, Omron Systems will certify, install and support its Vantage 7000 file server system with customized file maintenance software and upgraded 33.6 modems. The system works in conjunction with OSl's RS3510 point of sale terminal previously installed in the stores. The turnkey solution will provide Dollar General with the ability to scan and track item movement throughout the chain. Each site will include T1820 Symbol scanners which interface with Omron's RS3510s.
