OMRON SYSTEMS, INC. PRESENTS THE INTEGRA-PLUS INTEGRATED PC/POS HARDWARE PLATFORM

Schaumburg, IL (April 1998)  - Omron Systems, Inc., a leading supplier of retail point-of-sale systems, is pleased to present it's newest PC based POS product, the Integra-Plus.

The Omron Integra-Plus features an ergonomic compact design that provides the look and feel of a traditional cash register, while delivering the power and performance of a Personal Computer.

Easy to use, install and maintain, the Integra-Plus comes standard with a complete set of integrated peripherals including: a fully programmable 98 position alpha-numeric keyboard, a Mag Card Reader, a 10.4" monochrome LCD or 9" color CRT operator display, a 40 column dot matrix or thermal printer, and a large cash drawer.   A variety of expansion and peripheral options provide the flexibility to configure a system to meet current as well as future requirements.

The Integra-Plus, with a suggested retail price starting at $2795.00, is the ideal solution for independent as well as chain store retailers requiring a single source, integrated, open system hardware platform.

Based on industry-standard 32-bit PC architecture, the Integra-Plus includes a 586/133MHz processor that supports standard operating systems; MS-DOS, Windows 3.1, and Windows 95.  This enables retailers to introduce the Integra-Plus into existing environments, take advantage of the off-the-shelf software programs, and migrate easily from a DOS to a Windows application.

Standard PC features include a 1.2 GB IDE hard drive and a 3.5", 1.44 MB floppy drive.  Dual 72 pin SIMM sockets support up to 64 MB of RAM memory and Non-Volatile (C-MOS) on-board memory can be dedicated to store Grand Totals or retain transactions in progress in the event of a power failure.

An on-board 10 base T port supports and simplifies LAN connectivity for multiple terminals within a single store environment.  Four serial ports, a parallel port, and three expansion slots are available to facilitate additional system

I/O and peripheral connectivity.   System and peripheral options include: a 2-line alpha-numeric customer display, a second cash drawer, and a selection of scanners, scales, as well as an external CD-ROM and other system drives and devices.

Designed for the rigorous operational and environmental conditions of retail environments, the Integra-Plus is completely integrated.  It's small compact footprint saves valuable counter space which can be used to display impulse merchandise.

The Integra-Plus, developed and manufactured by Omron Systems, Inc., meets the Omron goal for ``Quality First".  Omron has developed an industry reputation for providing quality retail systems with overall exceptional hardware reliability.  The Integra-Plus continues to add to this Omron tradition.

Omron will be introducing additional Integra-Plus systems configurations and options throughout 1998 including  color LCD and Pentium models.
