NEWSupport Organization
Responsive support is a key ingredient in achieving customer satisfaction and market success.  OSI has added management positions to both the Help Desk and Support Services organizations to improve our efforts in these critical areas.    We will also be adding new resources to equip us with the skills and experience required to support today's sophisticated Retail market in the near future.  These additions allow us to focus our support efforts and improve our ability to respond with the necessary information to quickly address and resolve issues.

NEWProducts
In January 1998 OSI released the RS2810 with scale and data capture capability. It joins the other proprietary platforms including the RS4000 family.   This series of POS terminals comprises four models: RS4341, RS4841 and RS4310, RS4810 for the Hospitality and General Retail markets respectively. Other products recently released include: 

  • KeyPOS Plus - an innovative PC/POS platform with a PC built in the keyboard 
     
  • WIN-Plus - a family of LCD/PC based touch screen platforms
     
  • Inregra-Plus (RS6500) series - a low cost integrated PC/POS platform family
     
  • Vantage 7000 Plus - a Pentium based Retail Systems platform that can be configured as a front end POS terminal or an In Store Processor (ISP) Vantage 7000 Plus
     
  • A Windows based version of The Right Touch software application for table service
     
  • Enhancements to the RS4000 series for Hospitality and General Retail
     
  • Enhancements to the RS2810 for General Retail

 

NEWMIS System
This year OSI will invest a considerable sum to install a new Management Information System (MIS).  When implemented, the new system will streamline our business process and make our entire organization more efficient by integrating all facets of our operation.

Customers doing business with OSI will be affected in several positive ways: inventory supplies will be systematized; alleviating ``back order" issues, shipping and billing will be on a high-end tracking system; minimizing errors, and information will be more readily available; improving the customer service process and giving us quick access to information we need to better manage our business and be more responsive to  customers.

 

NEWAdditions to CO-OP Program
Based on input from a number of our resellers, we're making additions to our reseller CO-OP program.  In addition to current uses, resellers will now be able to use CO-OP credits to purchase a variety of Omron logo items.  These stocked items serve as excellent trade show or customer giveaways and can be also be used for employee incentives/awards.

Additionally, resellers that achieve and maintain expected performance levels will be given the option to use CO-OP credits towards the purchase of Omron Retail products.  An announcement featuring the reseller CO-OP program and it's new additions will be published and distributed to resellers in the near future.

 

NEWMarketing Programs
One of our key objectives this year is to enhance our market presence and create more demand for Omron products and services.  In addition to advertising programs and trade show participation, our Marketing group will implement a number of new programs designed to create demand in niche market segments/verticals in order to generate more sales opportunities for our resellers.

Marketing will also effectively extend our market visibility with regular distributions of information concerning major orders/rollouts, vertical applications, press and product announcements.  Company news and product information will also consistently be sent to the trade press, consulting firms and industry associations in addition to our resellers and customers.  And Marketing will continue to work hard to increase the competitive position of our products and services as well as deliver new solutions providing distinctive competitive advantages.

This year you'll find there's a new way of doing business at OSI.  Resellers achieving expected performance levels will have the flexibility of credit plans adjusted towards helping them achieve even more!
