Exhibits ``Win-Plus", Schaumburg, IL May 3, 1997 Omron Systems, Inc., a leading supplier of Retail solutions for the Hospitality industry, will exhibit a new family of integrated PC-based LCD touch screen POS terminals called Win-Plus, at the National Restaurant Association (NRA) Convention held in Chicago IL, May 17 through 21. The Win-Plus POS terminal family has been specifically designed to meet the rigorous operating conditions common to Hospitality applications and environments. Win-Plus terminals employ ACCU Touch, the highly reliable touch screen technology from Elo TouchSystems, to deliver the operational durability and enhanced performance required for demanding touch screen applications. Win-Plus terminals deliver full PC features and functionality in an ergonomically designed, small, low profile footprint that saves valuable work space and allows convenient usage in congested areas. The Win-Plus touch screen POS terminal family is comprised of two models accommodating the wide range of applications and configurations typical to Quick Service, Table Service and Food Service operations. The Win-Plus terminal family is based on industry standard PC architecture providing an open system platform that allows the user to choose the operating system, software application and peripherals/options best suited to meet their requirements. Both Win-Plus models feature a 586 microprocessor to deliver the performance and processing power required to support DOS, Windows, and Windows NT applications. Win-Plus MODEL WP1000 The wedge shaped model WP1000, features a 10.4" TFT Active Matrix color touch screen display that provides high quality resolution and optimal viewing angles. The model WP1000 supports up to 64 MB of system memory to meet current or future software requirements and includes an Enhanced IDE disk controller to accommodate a variety of Hard Drive options as well as optional boot-ROM. Peripheral and l/O connectivity are serviced via four serial communication ports, an enhanced parallel port and an on-board 10 base -T Ethernet port for LAN based network communications. The unit includes an external power pack (supply) and meets EPA energy star requirements. Internal components can be disassembled in minutes, facilitating quick on-site repair or depot maintenance. An LCD based, single line, rear customer display can be optionally added. Win-Plus MODEL WP1100 The thin line model WP1100 is less then 2" in diameter (thickness) and has an internal power supply which further reduces the overall footprint and allows the unit to be wall mounted or counter stationary. The model WP1100 includes a 10.4" enhanced STN passive color LCD operator display with exceptional backlit capabilities providing excellent readability. Up to 64 MB of system memory can be accommodated to meet current or future software requirements. The unit includes an Enhanced IDE disk controller to accommodate a variety of Hard Drive options as well as an optional boot-ROM. Two serial communication ports, an enhanced parallel port and an on-board 10 base -T Ethernet port for LAN based network communications, facilitate peripheral and l/O connectivity. Both the model WP1000 and model WP1100 can be utilized in combination within the same operating environment. Omron will market the Win-Plus touch screen POS terminal family with its "THE RIGHT TOUCH" table service software application as a turnkey solution for chain and independent restaurateurs. The Win-Plus touch screen POS terminal family will also be marketed as a systems hardware platform that can be utilized with third party software applications. Warranty and depot or on-site maintenance options will be provided by Omron.
