The Win-Plus WP5000P Wedge, Flatpanel Terminal and the Win-Plus WP5100P Thinline Terminal have been specifically designed to meet the rigorous operating conditions common to Hospitality as well as General Retail applications and environments. The WP5000P and WP5100P utilize ACCU Touch, the highly reliable touch screen technology from Elo Touch Systems, to deliver the operational durability and enhanced performance required for demanding touch screen applications. The WP5000P and WP5100P Terminals deliver full PC features and functionality in a compact, ergonomically designed, low profile footprint that saves valuable work space and allows convenient usage in congested areas. The Win-Plus WP5000P and WP5100P are the 3rd and 4th in a series of Win-Plus family models to be released by Omron, providing resellers with reliable and highly competitive hardware solutions for touch screen applications.
The Win-Plus WP5000P and WP5100P offer a low cost alternative to their sister products, the WP1000 and WP1100, for a turnkey solution for restaurant and other table service applications. The WP5000P and WP5100P can also be purchased separately as independent touch screen platforms which can be used with third party software for fast food, quick service and other Hospitality applications. They can also be used with software packages for General Retail applications that support touch screen functionality and require 800 x 600 video resolution.
Win-Plus MODEL WP5000P - OVERVIEW The wedge shaped Win-Plus WP5000P features a 12.1" TFT Active Matrix color touch screen display that provides high quality resolution and optimal viewing angles. It includes a 200 MHz Pentium CPU (P200) to deliver the processing power required to support DOS as well as Windows based applications. Dual 72 pin SIMM sockets ( to support up to 128 MB of RAM memory) and 512K Level 2 cache are also included. Peripheral and I/O connectivity are serviced via four serial communication ports, an enhanced parallel port and an on-board DEC 32 bit Ethernet 10BaseT controller port for LAN based network communications. Internal components can be disassembled in minutes, facilitating quick on-site repair or depot maintenance. An integrated LCD based single line rear customer display can be added as an option. Additional peripheral options include cash drawer(s), attachable mag stripe card reader and thermal or dot matrix POS printer options. The unit includes an external power pack (supply), and RJ connection printer cable. In addition, the unit meets EPA energy star requirements.

WP5000P and WP5100P KEY ATTRIBUTES OPEN SYSTEM PLATFORM The Win-Plus WP5000P and WP5100P, based on industry standard architecture, provide an open system platform allowing for choice of POS and business software applications that best suit the user's specific requirements. The utilization of standard PC interfaces provides access to a wide range of PC options and POS peripherals to meet current and future system requirements. DESIGNED FOR HOSPITALITY OR RETAIL ENVIRONMENTS The Win-Plus WP5000P and WP5100P are specifically designed to meet the rigorous operating conditions of Hospitality or Retail environments. Both terminals are equipped with a 12.1" LCD liquid resistant/dustproof operator display which extends the life and use of the system while protecting the system investment. Unlike standard PCs, the WP5000P and WP5100P are designed to withstand high levels of electrostatic discharge (common in many environments) which can corrupt data files and cause system lockups or failures. Their space saving compact design makes them ideal for environments where space is at a premium. ACCU Touch Omron is using the highly reliable Elo Touch screens in the Win-Plus units. This enhances the reliability of the units with fast, accurate touch responses, increasing speed of service. Omron is proud to present these fully integrated units for use in the Hospitality or Retail industry. EASY TO SERVICE AND MAINTAIN The Win-Plus WP5000P and WP5100P utilize plug and play peripherals and internal components which can be easily serviced. As a result, on-site service can be performed quickly without major disruption to business. This capability, along with their light weight and compact footprint, makes them ideal for depot maintenance programs which lower ownership cost. RELIABILITY The Win-Plus WP5000P and WP5100P have been Quality Assured to comply with Omron Standards, which are the most stringent Quality Standards in the industry. Extensive quality and material control are performed throughout the manufacturing process. Each WP5000P/5100P is subjected to extensive burn in and diagnostic testing prior to delivery. The combination of these test and quality standards optimize operating efficiency and up-time performance. The WP5000P and WP5100P continue Omron's tradition and industry-wide reputation for delivering quality point-of-sale systems with exceptional hardware reliability.
STANDARD TERMINAL CONFIGURATION
PERIPHERALS, OPTIONS & UPGRADES PERIPHERALS SUPPORTED The Win-Plus WP5000P and WP5100P are open systems, based on industry standard architecture. The WP5000P/5100P utilize serial, parallel and standard PC interfaces to support POS peripherals and system I/O options. While virtually any third party POS peripherals that support these standard interfaces can be used with the WP5000P/5100P, Omron has certified a select variety which it markets, supports and warrants to optimize system reliability and overall system performance. All third party POS peripherals are evaluated for serviceability, compatibility and performance. The certification process includes testing for electrostatic discharge levels, evaluation of Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) ratings and validation of regulatory approvals such as UL and FCC. The following POS peripherals have been certified by Omron. POS printers The Citizen Cit3210 Thermal Guest Check Printer is the primary printer supported and recommended for use with WP5000P/5100P. The printer's housing color (dark gray), matches the standard housing color of the WP5000P / WP5100P. The Citizen Cit3210 has a print speed of 10-12 lines per second on average and automatically loads a new roll of paper. Omron also markets and supports the Epson TM-300 dot matrix printers and the Epson TM-T88 thermal printer. The Epson printers can also be used with the Win-Plus WP5000P/5100P, however, the color (a very light gray) of the printer housing for the Epson models does not match the WP5000P/5100P housing color. One printer cable (with RJ connector) is included with each WP5000P/5100P. Additional printer cables may be purchased. Integrated customer display The optional customer display is a 2-line, 20-character LCD display. Mag stripe card reader The optional mag-stripe reader is a track 1&2 reader. A mounting bracket (included in the kit) attaches to the side of the unit. This option provides additional security, flexibility and speed to any operation. Cash drawer The dark gray cash drawer part number CB RJ11WINS is recommended for use. The standard Omron cash drawer part number CB RJ11 (beige color) is also usable. The cash drawer option is activated from the attached printer.
